The #WOWFeb27 Debate will be on the 27th February in the Main Chamber of the House of Commons

In 2013 WOW Petition achieved over 104,000 signatures and secured a debate in the main chamber at the House of Commons, scheduled for Thursday February 27th,  2014.  WOW Petition calls for a Cumulative Impact Assessment of all cuts and changes affecting sick & disabled people, their families and carers and an immediate end to the Work Capability Assessment, as voted for by the British Medical Association.

The WOWpetition will be debated in the House of Commons on the 27th provisionally scheduled for an 11-30am start although this could be delayed if there are any statements that need to be read to the House before Business starts.

The debate will be under a single line whip, which means that MP’s can choose to either attend or vote. So much for the status of an e-petition! Therefore it is up to us to convince our MP’s to attend and here are some suggestions.

Before the 27th February 2014

  1. Write to your local MP (you can find the details by using our  Write to your MP tool) and we’ve produced a couple of suggested template letters  here (outline) and here (detailed)
  2. Or if you’d prefer to e-mail your MP we’ve put together an automated tool to help you compile and send it here.

On the 27th February 2014

If you are lucky enough to be able to attend the WOWdebate at the House of Commons we are planning to lobby MP’s in the Central Lobby from 10-30am until the #WOWdebate. Directions on how to get there are here http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/directions/layout/ .

However, you are only allowed to lobby your own MP so before making the effort to get to the Houses of Parliament on the 27th February 2014 please check with your MP that they will be available by using this automated tool that will send an e-mail informing them that you wish to lobby them in the Central Lobby on the 27th February and requesting that they make themselves available, as well as asking them to attend the debate and vote on the motion. Please only ask your MP to make themselves available to be lobbied if you are planning to attend the #WOWdebate.

The following link is a useful guide for how to Lobby your MP: https://www.equity.org.uk/documents/guide-to-lobbying-your-mp/

If you can’t get to the House of Commons then you can follow the debate on Freesat Channel 201, Virgin Channel 605, Sky Channel 504 or on your computer at
Or the BBC Parliament Channel

Thank you all for getting us this far! Hope you enjoy the day!

I spent 7 months without benefits until I involved my MP David Davis ,East Yorks. Within a month of contacting him my benefits were reinstated. After months of ATOS re-arainging appointments due to problems with employees, ATOS had falsely stated that I had missed an appointment , I had not recieved a notification of any sort from any source. ATOS were guilty of lying . I recieved £50 pounds by way of an apology, I then had to attend at a Tribunal where I was awarded The Mobility Component Higher rate for just 11 months and on re-applying after 11months full Mobility Component indefinitely . The RCN has debated whether nurses working for ATOS should be struck off , the reasoning being that they are not acting in the best interests of their patients.

Well so much for the hipocratic oath these nurses and doctors should be brought to account for their actions and if they were found to be lying to save the country money would that not be fraud which is an arrestable offence.Someone should try it because a person would not go to an atos doctor and play down their illness especially when they have the backing of their own doctor and in a lot of cases specialists. Therefore atos employees are writing what the want and not the truth which would be fraud.Hit them where it hurts start at the bottom and work your way up all these people are answerable to someone abo eventually you’ll get to the organ grinder.

how about some cuts to the fringe benefits that these scum sucking parasite politicians claim on a daily basis, like paper clips etc.

  3. I personally believe all nurses and doctors that worked for Atos should be struck off.
Their first loyalty should be to the people they are supposed to care for. This should apply in all workplaces

I can’t make it from Newcastle to London but will certainly in her watching it as it happens live on Thursday. Good luck to everyone involved

Hey I am so happy I found your site, I really found
you by mistake, while I was browsing on Aol for something else, Anyhow I am here now and would
just like to say cheers for a incredible post and a all round entertaining blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t
have time to go through it all at the minute but I have bookmarked
it and also included your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read
a lot more, Please do keep up the awesome work.

Has everyone seen the tweet earlier today by @Avitusparta with this link to a Guardian article http://t.co/Mj24uvxoBn? And you can download by saving as a copy of it from here http://www.coe.int/t/dghl/monitoring/socialcharter/Conclusions/State/UKXX2_en.pdf

Then you can send it to your MP and demand an explanation of why ESA exists at all, when it must be more ‘manifestly inadequate’ than IB etc. was in 2013, as it’s incompatible with our rights.
